SHERMAN, Texas - The search continued for an 8-year-old girl in Sherman who has been missing since a crash on Christmas Eve. 8-year-old Clara Robinson has been missing since a crash on the morning of Dec. 24. The Robinson family's SUV crashed into a flooded drainage ditch and was carried to a nearby creek. Four of the six family members were rescued. Will Robinson, Clara's father, reportedly died while trying to save his two daughters. TxDOT says as of Monday it is installing guardrails along the stretch of U.S. 75 where the crash occurred. Sherman police say that throughout the years, they have seen reports of several vehicles driving into the drainage ditch off U.S. 75. An online petition for safety barriers along the ditch now has about 12,000 signatures.
