Sajjad Heidari has been jailed for more than eight years for decapitating his 17-year-old wife, Mona Heidari, and parading her head in the streets. Mona had been married to her husband since the age of 12. The gruesome killing has prompted demands in Iran for a law aimed at protecting victims of domestic abuse, as well as demands to raise the minimum age of marriage.
